In winter the city of Montreal becomes a hive of winter activities and especially in the Jean-Drapeau Park (home of the Canadian Formula1 Grand Prix) - they have created the Montreal Snow Village. Like Hotel Kakslauttanen in Finland they have created an ice worshiper paradise. With Montreal city landscape in the background, the snow village is the celebration of everything Ice; there is the ice hotel, bar and restaurant all house in huge igloos.
The Montreal Snow Village is open during the winter months January to March; you can come for the day or stay overnight in one of its various rooms, there is the Polar Igloo, the Standard Suite or the Thematic Prestige Suite. A stay they promise will be enjoyable and unforgettable. The rooms are equipped with beds made out of ice combined to a wooden frame with a mattress and a thermal sleeping bag on top - resisting temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius, so you won’t turn to ice by morning.
At night the village change into a magical kingdom with outdoor dancing with live music. Inside beautiful coloured lights warm the snow-white walls, giving it that magical feeling. The Bar and Restaurant are also in full swing, where you are served drinks in ice glass – take your gloves. The igloo housing the Pommery Restaurant serves two, three and five course meals.
The snow village also has the St. Helen ‘ice’ Chapel offering you the opportunity to have a valentines break with a difference.
