Fuji Rock Festival Japan
The Fuji rock festival is held in Naba ski resort of Niigata it was founded by Masahiro Hidaka. It is now in its 14th year; Masahiro said it was inspired by a trip to Glastonbury. The festival is Japan’s largest outdoor festivals it attacks over 30,000 fans and is said to be the cleanest festival in the world, with round the clock recycling and round the clock cleaning (smash-uk.com/frf10).
Vinspired Lake of Stars Malawi
The festival takes place in October and is set on the shores of Lake Malawi and features a mixture of reggae, Ska and Afropop. You can mix your festival weekend with safari to the jungle, boat trips and mountaineering (Lakeofstars.org).

The Garden Festival takes place in the village of Petrcane a picturesque village on the cost of Croatia. You can go for the weekend or ten days. Bonnaroo Tennessee USA
The Bonnaroo festival is famous for launching the career of up can coming artist, such as Norah Jones and Kings of Leon. The festival takes place in the small town of Manchester, Tennessee and attacks up to 100,000 visitors. The festival features some to the world’s biggest artist with activities spread over different areas; there is the What Stage, Which Stage, This Tent, That Tent and The Other Tent as well as the Comedy Tent. Reggae Sumfest Jamaica
Now in its 17th year Reggae Sumfest is one of the world’s biggest Reggae summer festivals. The festival takes place in Montego Bay Jamaica, during the month of July. The festival spreads over seven days and features some of the world biggest Reggae, Rap and RnB stars; a genre for each night. So you can sleep in the day for take in some of the other many activities Montego Bay or close by Negril has to offer (reggaesumfest.com).
Oya Festival Norway
Seen as one of the biggest festivals in Europe, Oya offers over 200 live acts, 30 clubs and four outdoor stages. The festival takes place in August, Norway’s ‘The Medieval Park’, and cost about £220 for five days. Visit can expect eco-friendly food, recycled paper and political debates. Festival waste is used as biofuel to run the shuttle buses to the city centre, and stages used LEDs lights which use less energy (oyafestival.com).
Sziget Festival Hungary
The Sziget Festival was started in 1993 and 17 years later it is still going strong with visitor’s numbers climbing to 390,000. The festival unlike other festivals offers in addition to music, poetry reading, art exhibitions, pottery making classical music concerts and many more activities. The festival takes place on the Obudai-sziget (Obuda island), a leafy 266-acre island in Danube next to Budapest.
